Was that you beneath my ear

As I listened to your heart

Ear on chest, timpani skin,

Like a brood hen hatching her kind.

Rushing waters beneath your ribs

As you lay there in my arms,

Fragile fountains out of your eyes

Wet my pupils thirsty wells.

Every breath breathing as one

In that moment inside the sun,

Grinning, mute, you took my hands

As the prism shot out its hues.

Rainbows splashed all over our skin

As we entered a shimmering world,

One real day surrounded by night

On this planet among the stars.
